Battling Loneliness Building Connections Virtual Support Group

Loneliness. It’s a health battle many of us face, not only mentally and emotionally but also physically.

Did you know that the human brain registers loneliness as a threat? Neuro research has shown that when the brain experiences intense loneliness it reacts as if the body is in danger. The stress response goes into overdrive causing your heart rate, blood pressure and blood sugar levels to rise. Our bodies then produce extra inflammatory cells to help repair tissue damage which leaves us with fewer antibodies to fight viruses. Subconsciously, we can start to view other people as potential threats and sources of rejection which then only validates our feelings of loneliness and causes us to isolate more.

At Healing Wounds Healthcare, we want you to know you are not alone! We see you and we want to help! That is why our Emotional Support Coaches have put together a 10-week adult virtual support group called “Battling Loneliness. Building Connections.”

This virtual support group will not only help you build connections with other people but will also give you an opportunity to learn new skills around healthy coping techniques and self-care.

We look forward to getting to know you.
